The Ancient House Museum
The Museum is situated on White Hart Street and is an oak framed Tudor merchant’s house. It holds replicas of the Thetford Treasure and has displays about flint knapping, rabbit warreners and wildlife in the brecks.

The Charles Burrell Museum
The Museum is situated in Minstergate and is home to a fine collection of steam engines and agricultural machinery which were built by the famous steam traction engine company. Recreated workshops, photographs, letters and documents on show.

The Dad's Army Museum
The Museum is situated in The Old Fire Station at the rear of the Guildhall in Cage Lane. Recently extended the Museum tells the story of this legendary BBC comedy and its links with Thetford, the real Walmington-on-Sea. Guided tours of the Thetford locations can be booked, including a visit to the Museum.

Nunnery Lakes Nature Reserve
The reserve is 200 acres of land south-east of Thetford. An interesting mixture of semi-natural habitats including woodland, breckland heath, fen and open water. Two kilometres of permissive footpaths with interpretation boards and interpretative panels, and observation hide.

Castle Park

Thetford Forest
Thetford Forest is the largest lowland pine forest. You will find walks, picnic areas, cycle hire, an adventure playground, a maze, forest shop and tea room. Special events are also held in the forest including live concerts.
