2018 is the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War 1 and Thetford Town is planning some town wide events to commemorate this culminating in the participation of the Nations Tribute Event on November 11th 2018. A really important part of this is the production of thousands of knitted or crocheted poppies to decorate our buildings and structures in the town centre. A flowing river of poppies will wash down the Guildhall clock tower to meet with the giant poppy on the Royal British Legion building as the backdrop to the Nations Tribute Torchlit Ceremony. read more
