Stuart is currently our longest serving Councillor on Thetford Town Council having been elected in 2007.

Stuart is a Chartered Accountant who attended Norwich Road and Thetford Grammar Schools.

Married to Denise they have two grown up children Jacob and Elizabeth. He has been heavily involved in many community organisations and is currently Chairman of the Thetford Society and Secretary of the Thomas Paine Society. A town councillor since 2007 he was previously the mayor in 2013/14 and again in 2023/24.

Intensely proud of the town’s heritage he has been heavily involved in developing the displays as part of the refurbishment of the Guildhall. He was instrumental in developing the Dad’s Army Museum and more recently a permanent exhibition, In the Footsteps of Thomas Paine, at the Thomas Paine Hotel. He was also involved in the formation of the Thetford Players drama group and is a regular in the annual pantomime.

Stuart is also a keen follower of local sport and recognises the role it has in creating a stronger community.
