    Administration Officer

    37 hours of work per week  

    Rate of pay: £20,852 

    Applications are invited to join the Thetford Town Council in the role of Administration Officer to support the Finance Officer with financial duties and support to committees. This will involve providing financial and administrative support to ensure that day-to-day finance functions are performed timely and accurately. These will include tasks such as processing purchase invoices, invoicing market traders and property tenants, updating income and certain staff related tasks such as updating annual leave records. 

    Experience in basic bookkeeping is desirable and additional training will be given. Whilst not essential, experience in a local government finance will be useful.  Knowledge on the use of the SAGE accounting system and RIALTAS will also be useful. 

    The Council has moved to paperless accounting records and virtual signing and is always seeking ways to improve its internal processes.  There are opportunities to suggest continuous improvements to internal controls and accounting processes. 

    Closing date for receipt of applications is: 1pm Friday 8th July 2022 with interviews for successful applicants due to take place on Thursday 21st July 2022
