One of Thetfords biggest events of 2017, Soapbox Challenge, returns this year bigger and better!

Last year saw a huge turn out of people down kings street to watch the 9 teams race for the title of ‘Champions’ of Thetford’s very first Soapbox Challenge.

This year we will be seeing 15 teams enter into the time trials down kings street to see themselves crowned as this year’s winners.

As well as the fastest kart being crowned we will also be giving out an award for the best looking kart/team. Some teams prefer style over substance and we love seeing all the crazy ideas that they come up with. Last year even saw a dragon on one of the karts!

This is a rough guide on how the day will go with timings:

• Teams will be arriving from 09:00
• Teams will be doing their practice runs down kings street in the lead up to midday.
• The timed trials will begin at 12:00 midday.
• After the first set of runs have been done, there will be a 30 minute break.
• After the break the teams second Trials will begin.
• After the last trials are over the winners of both competitions will be crowned.

This day is a great opportunity for thetford to come together as a community and have a day of laughter, fun and competition.
