Road closure at A134 Bury Road, Thetford for resurfacing

Work will begin on Monday 3 August to carry out some kerbing and footway works ahead of major carriageway resurfacing works which are scheduled to commence on Monday 10 August at A134 Bury Road, Thetford. The site will extend from the junction with Mill Lane to a point approx 50 metres south of the junction with Queensway. The works will take three weeks to complete.

During the kerbing and footway works, traffic will be controlled using lane closures and temporary traffic signals. However during the resurfacing works it will be necessary to close Bury Road to all through traffic whilst the works are in progress. A fully signed diversion via London Road, Old A11 & Elvedon Road will be in place for the duration of the works

Access to businesses and properties will be maintained from one end of the closure at any time but it is inevitable that there will be some disruption. The County Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

The work which will cost £149,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community & Environmental Services Department and their contractors.
