    Remembrance Poppy Display

Ahead of the Remembrance Sunday Parade in Thetford, the Town Team have begun hanging and placing the knitted poppy displays around the Market Place.
These displays are made possible by a team of volunteer’s who knitted and crocheted the poppies as part of a project in 2018, to mark the 100 year Anniversary of the formal end of WW1.
The poppies were displayed across town that year, before being split up and donated to groups such as The Royal British Legion and some of the Churches across Thetford.
You can see these displayed by the town’s churches, alongside our displays in the town centre to mark Remembrance Sunday.
There is also a year round display in Thetford Cemetery, that makes up a part of Thetford’s Forgotten Soldiers memorial garden.
Thank you to those that took part in the original project as well as those that make it possible for these to be displayed as a sign of remembrance every year.
