We would like to welcome Holmes Lane Livestock Ltd, who have recently introduced their sheep on to graze Ford Meadow.
The livestock numbers will be slowly increased in the next few weeks to support our conservation work, grazing the wildflower vegetation following the end of the growing season.
Holmes Lane Livestock who will also be introducing their animals to graze the Barnham Cross Common, Join the team, to help support the Thetford Town Council Conservation work alongside our other grazier Thomas Woods farming who currently graze their Norfolk Horned Sheep on the Castle Park site.
We look forward to the further introduction of Cattle and Sheep on to Barnham Cross Common after the winter season.
Using both types of livestock for the grazing of the areas is essential for the site maintenance and allows the wild flora and fauna to thrive supporting the SSSI Site.
We again ask the public visiting the sites to support our new graziers and to abide by the guidance set out on signage as well as keeping dogs on a lead at all times for the safety of all and for the welfare of the animals.
We will be working on some activities and events for public to attend to help support and learn about our grazing following the winter season.
